Zoe-perry
Perry was born to Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). Her first roles on television included two roles in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mom. She did not explore acting as a profession after reaching adulthood, as her parents were worried about the detrimental effects that stress could be a cause of. Perry admitted that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school. She began performing as a means to connect with new people in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry started her acting career with New York after graduation, landing minor roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry go back to California to work as a stage actress. In 2013, she appeared in The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. Perry appeared nine times in The Family, an ABC film The Family, in 2016. Her father played her character in The ABC drama Scandal. The same year the actress was selected to play a younger model of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger version of her mother's role. She was cast in the role in spite of her strong relationship with the character's family.
